Wae Rebo
Wae Rebo is a traditional village in an isolated hamlet in the village of Satar Lenda, Satarmese Subdistrict of West Manggarai Regency of East Nusa Tenggara Province. Located at an altitude of 1000 above sea level, surrounded by hills and beautiful forests, this village is often shrouded in fog when viewed from a distance. It's reasonable if called kampung above the clouds. To reach the Wae Rebo, must through the native forest. Lush forest along with its animal. When you enter the Woods, will be greeted with the chirping birds Pacycepal that seems to accompany your steps.
Wae Rebo custom homes is known as ' Mbaru Niang ' (a round conical houses). Mbaru niang consists of 5 levels. Each level has its own function. The first level is ' Lutur ' which means tent. This level is used as the living quarters of the community. The second level is the ' Lobo ' i.e. a functioning attic store foodstuffs and other goods – goods. The third level is ' lentar ' which is used to store the seeds – such as corn, rice, seeds and nuts – nuts, and others. The fourth level ' as ' Rae Lempa stock food reserves used during the failed harvest or prolonged drought. The fifth level is the ' Code ' Hekang used to store langkar, i.e. a sort of square-shaped woven from bamboo in order to save the offerings to be presented on ancestor.
