Ceremony Kasodo

Kasodo ceremony was the largest ceremony for the Tengger Tribe. Kasodo ceremonies associated with the legend about the origin of the Tengger. In desperation, Roro Anteng, and Joko Seger climb the peak of Mount Bromo and pray for help to the gods. The gods granted them on condition that the youngest child born to be sacrificed to the volcano crater. The requirements were approved by the couple. not long then born a child of the couple. However, the gods be merciful so that in subsequent years 24 children born to the couple. however, when the queen heard that his son is the 25th named Kesuma is the last child and had to be sacrificed, he can not bear to fulfill that promise.
In his anger, the gods threatened to spew fire and brimstone from the mountain. In the end, there is no other option for the couple, unless the latter threw his son into the crater of Mount Bromo. Immediately after the sacrifice is done, the child's voice asks on the Tengger and his descendants to perform the ceremony once a year at Mount Bromo. The ceremony was intended to commemorate the event and to reduce anger at the gods.
